Has been a slow year for dogshows and that kind of activity !

 

FINALLY ; SPRING IS HERE !

After long, long winter its so nice to see sun, see the snow melting with speed. Have been a really painful winter, in many ways . Hurted my back at christmas holidays, three months at sick leave. Very difficult when you own dogs which need exersice !
No shows, totally been "out" of dogworld. Just waiting to get tracking and dogs run in woods. Its what they are waiting too!
Mimmu is going to enter some shows this spring and summer. And i think i take veteran Toto to some too, just for fun.

Towards x-mas

The total darkness here...its quite depsressing! No snow, just water and mud. been promised colder and snow tomorrow; lets see ! Dont miss the snow, buts much better with dogs.

Have been blood tracking and just wander in the woods with dogs. It gives you your own time, you can tink about whatever, you dont have to anserw the phone, dogs love it. And everyone knows fresh outdoor life makes good to your soul, mind and body! Dogs and your self:)

Afetr long time i entered two dogs to show! Last time was in august our Bassetspecial. now its time for the biggest show yearly in Finland; Helsinki winner and Winner of the year. Judge at saturday is Mark Cocozza and sunday Johan Juslin. Two days , both Mimmu and Toto is going. Toto is first time in veteranclass! Time flyes!

There was the Vendeen Congress in Uk. Bassetclub of Finland had our "delegate"there cause i was not able to take part. And Seija did well! Heard it was very usefull and it always is to talk about important issues! Without sharing knowledge of the most important things of breeding; healthissues, everyone has to make the same mistakes! Thats not clever!
And a beautiful pb the judge seems to find in the showring for BOB :)

Have made some breedingplans also for my Mimmu :) She is going to be eyechecked and x-rayed for elbows and hips first. She is too young for the moment, but next summer or autum. Its five years i had last pups :) Thats because plans with Lulu didnt work; she got tumors in ovary and was operated. Would been so nice to have an other litter from her! But you never know with dogs.

Summer gone, very rainy september and october ....This photo tells best what me & dogs mostly done :) Beeing out in woods, looking for mushrooms, hiking, just beeing...Its very good for everyone to get away from all the hustle and bustle and all everyday duty we all have.
Have been visiting couple times at  "Helmis" aka ch P.Trick or Treat home; Helmi have pups.(kennel Rosarian)  Lovely six small pb`s ! Some paperwork related my functions in Bassetclub, grooming ofcorce; thats all ive done in "dogworld" :) No shows, no activity !

Met my old friend from Australia ! So nice ! She is a breeder too, but we have so much other things to talk about; not only dogthings :) She is still in Finland and we will meet again when she on her way back home will arrive to Helsinki.

My Toto is eight years old; time flyes!! He is now a  veteran, so i will take him to some shows now. Just for fun...my fun; Toto have got enough of that and its not anymore the same boy who was flying in the ring and really enjoyed it! Now hes doing it just cause i want ?
The biggest show in Finland is ahead; Helsinki winner and winner 2012.  Mimmu is also going to show her self there :)

Slowly we start to wait for cold and snow...im not thrilled at all ! I hate snow.Very dark around the clock soon. As you know , we have really dark wintermonths  here, specially in south-Finland because most of winter here is no snow, only darkness. In north they have the white ground making everything more clean and brigth.
So lighting candles, sleeping a lot, keeping warm and waiting for spring again :)

When august turns to september, it sure shows in weather :) Have had a nice and relaxing weekend home. Been in woods , picking mushrooms, couple dogs with me so they had also what they like the best !

No dogshows in september :) all other things. Friend of my from overseas gome visit later this month, my mother will visit me after couple weeks. And next weekend i will go to country for a weekend to a friends cottage. Otherwise only work...

In the first one Mimmu is wet ! She dip in to one pond when tryed to drink :) Then she just swim like it had been her meaning all the time !
In second Toto & Mimmu have a scent of rabbit, elk,deer, fox or something like that :)

Syyskuun alkaessa sen todella huomasi ilmassa, syyssadetta  riittävästi. Kesästä ei voi enää puhua.
Viikonloppu meni ulkoillessa koirien kanssa , sieniä keräillen ja nukkuessa :)
Syyskuussa ei koiranäyttelyitä, vieraita ulkomailta, äitikin tulee kylään ja tarkoitus on mennä myös kaverin mökille huilailemaan. Kerättävä voimia talven varalle , tiedossa vaan töitä...

Alakuvassa Toto& Mimmu vainuavat jonkin eläimen; mikä lie mennyt hirvi, peura, jänis...mikä tahansa, hirveä reuhtominen ja jäljestys alkoi kun kameran laitoin taskuun.

Juhlaerkkari/ Finnish Bassetclub 40 years

Very nice, very hefty weekend behind at Bassetclubs 40 years special-show.
Took part to the organisation commitee and had all the food we sold as my duty.
Its peace of cake if you dont have your all dogs also to show :)
Im pleased with results, specially in this situation i could not consentrate enough at my dogs :) Toto who has been many times Bob, Bos, even BIS in our special is now 7 years and was second after the winner , my little Mimmu was exc 2 and got cg, my breedings ch P:Tricolour Trophy was BB3 and ch P.Trademark got exc 4 with cg, also Mimmus "cousins" Genepy delle Alpi and Glog Punch got both excellent. My ch Yamashta CrodileDundee got good in veteranclass  because his teeth has moved at age of five. They are not correct anymore :)This i of cource know, but wanted to support our club so i entered also him. Judge was very sweet, warm  and nice person Jette Vind Ramvad (Petit Hero ) from Denmark. You could really see she love the breed and judging them ; thanks Jette for a nice day !
We arrived to Mustiala mansion already friday after cooking, baking and working hard for days and weeks before the show. Saturday we had the show in great weather; no rain and not too hot for dogs !
saturday evening we had a dinner after show and some of the folks stayed up to next morning :) I start to be old and went to bed at ten :):)
Sunday we had "basset-day", sighthound lure-running, tracking  and some other  program in  the beutiful park around Mustiala.

Kovin rankka, kovin mukava viikonloppu takana Mustialassa Bassetkerhon 40v juhlaerkkarissa !
Kivaa oli, tunnelma hyvä ja kiva tavata porukkaa erkkarissa; tunnelma on aina vähemmän tiukka kun monesti muissa näyttelyissä. Kuitenkin  on vuoden tärkein näyttely kyseessä ; kiva että porukka osaa ottaa silti rennosti kuten koirahommissa kuuluisikin. Ainahan löytyy poikkeuksia; joillekkin ihmisille se voitto näyttelyssä on kaikki kaikessa ja jopa käytöstavat saattavat unohtua kun pinnaa kiristää. Kohdalle ei osunut yhtäkään erkkarissa, se on mukavaa.
Tuomarimme petit-kehässä oli lämmin ja herttainen Jette Vind Ramvad Tanskasta (Petit Hero-kennel). Oikein näki että hän rakastaa rotuaan ja koirien arvostelemista :)
